Frances Tiafoe expresses envy over Carlos Alcarazs Travis Scott shoes

American tennis player and sneaker enthusiast Frances Tiafoe was left feeling envious when he saw fellow player Carlos Alcaraz don a pair of Travis Scott’s new Nike collaboration shoes. Alcaraz was seen wearing these coveted shoes during practice at the Queen’s Club Championships in 2023.

Tiafoe has been friends with Scott since the NBA All-star game this season. He had been looking forward to getting his hands on a pair of Scott’s new Nike collaboration shoes. However, Alcaraz had beaten him to the punch, and Tiafoe did not seem too pleased about it.

“It’s funny. Me and him (Alcaraz) were just cracking jokes in the locker room. Totally forgot to ask him that. I was so pumped. You just told me that. You just reminded me,” he told the reporter at the Queen’s Club championships following his first-round win against Botic Van de Zandschulp.

Tiafoe spoke of his newly–formed friendship with the rapper at the NBA all–star game this season and hinted that he ought to receive a fresh pair of shoes for the same reason. “Yeah, I mean, Travis is my guy. Hung out there at All-Star. Hit me up. I ain’t got no kicks, man. What’s up? I see him. Come on, man. You can’t be rocking those before I am. That’s just unacceptable.”

Tiafoe’s lighthearted comments were met with laughter from the media and fans alike. He finally remarked that he’ll be sure to remind Scott to send him a pair. “I don’t know if you guys saw this new Trav shoe with Johnny Mac? You see I’m in the video? And I ain’t got no f***ing shoes, man. That bothers me, man. I don’t know. We gonna have to fix that. I’m definitely gonna remind him, for sure.”

It is unclear whether Tiafoe will be able to get his hands on a pair of shoes, but he is certainly not giving up hope.

Frances Tiafoe and Carlos Alcaraz begin Queen’s Club campaign with a win

Tiafoe and Alcaraz have both started their grass court season on a promising note. Tiafoe in particular is fresh off a title at the ATP 250 in Stuttgart, Germany, and a career high ranking of World No. 10. He notably had to fend off match–points in the final against Jan – Lennard Struff.

Alcaraz, on the other hand, made his debut at the Championships at Queen’s Club, with a hard-fought win against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech in 3 sets. Regardless of who wins the title, fans can be certain that this ATP 500 will go a long way to prepare the two players for the upcoming major at Wimbledon.
